Radiological diagnostics is a branch of medicine that uses various devices based on ionizing radiation, ultrasound and magnetic resonance to diagnose diseases of all organic systems of the human body.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Modern diagnostic tests are of great value for the successful detection and treatment of diseases. DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY \u2014 X-RAY IMAGING<\/h3><\/div>\r\n

At theSpecialty Hospital Medico we have a Philips Digital Diagnity Elev machine for digital radiography and we can perform the following examinations:<\/p>\n

  • X-ray imaging is used in diagnostics because it shows bone structures in detail, and is most often indicated in various traumas of the bone system, and is often used in lung imaging.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    X-ray imaging usually does not require special preparation, and the medical radiology engineer will give you all the necessary instructions before the imaging. Medical radiology engineers are professionals with whom you can certainly discuss your current health problem that is causing you to process and ask them questions related to the search you are doing.<\/p>\n

    X-ray imaging is a completely painless diagnostic method and is often combined with other diagnostic methods, e.g. ultrasound or MR, and they often complement each other in obtaining the information necessary for diagnostic processing in certain diseases of the organism.<\/p>\n

    Today, X-ray imaging has become very safe against the harmful effects of radiation, because thanks to regular testing and controls by institutions that deal exclusively with technical standards in the use of X-ray radiation, there are no risk zones. Besides that, great attention is paid to the radiation dose, which is reduced to a minimum with digital equipment, i.e. the smallest dose of X-ray radiation is always used to obtain the necessary information through a specific X-ray examination.<\/p>\n

    It is always a good idea to ask women of reproductive age who come for X-ray imaging in reproductive age an additional question about the possibility of pregnancy. In case of pregnancy, we can replace X-ray imaging with another diagnostic test.”<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n

    MAMMOGRAPHY<\/h3><\/div>\r\n

    Mammography is a radiological examination used to detect breast disease. The examination is performed on a mammogram, a device whose operation is based on the use of ionizing radiation. During imaging, the breast is pressed between two plates of the mammography device.<\/p>\n

    At the Medico Special Hospital, we have a Siemens MAMMOMAT Inspiration machine. It is a modern mammogram with tomosynthesis that enables 3D imaging, faster and more precise results, as well as a more pleasant examination.<\/p>\n

    The first mammogram is usually recommended for women at the age of 40, in case of indication it is possible even earlier. If you have a positive family history, the recommendations change depending on the estimated risk for breast cancer, which your doctor will advise you on.<\/p>\n

    Mammography and ultrasound of the breast are complementary methods that represent the standard in detecting breast tumours, as well as other changes in the breasts. The small doses of ionizing radiation to which a woman is exposed during mammography represent a much smaller risk than the benefits that mammography provides.<\/p>\n

    This examination does not require any special preparation. When coming for the examination, do not use cream, powder, lotion or deodorant. The examination usually lasts 15-20 minutes, and during the examination the patient must stand while the breasts are compressed.<\/p>\n

    Mammographic imaging is best done from the fifth to the tenth day of the menstrual cycle.<\/p>\n<\/div>\r\n

    MAGNETIC RESONANCE IMAGING<\/h3><\/div>\r\n

    Modern diagnostic tests such as magnetic resonance imaging provide detailed visualization of organs and the body, and are used to evaluate various conditions or diseases. At the Medico Special Hospital, we use the Philips Ingenia Ambition device with a power of 1.5 Tesla, modern digital technology and software, and our radiologists have many years of experience in analyzing magnetic resonance images and will write you the findings as soon as possible, explain them and suggest the next steps.<\/p>\n

    Since the magnetic resonance imaging is high on the scale of diagnostic treatment of patients, an MRI examination is performed on indication, depending on the patient\u2019s symptoms, and in the Specialty hospital Medico you can do the following examinations:<\/p>\n

      During MRI examinations, you enter a magnetic field, so this requires a certain preparation of the patient and metal objects should be removed before entering the space intended for imaging, such as: jewellery, watches, credit cards, various headphones, mobile phones, coins, clips, hairpins, metal fasteners, buttons, stationery, glasses, pocket knives, removable dentures…<\/p>\n

      Before the examination, the patient receives the Informed Consent, which contains the most important questions for the patient’s safety when entering the magnetic field.<\/p>\n

      The instructions for taking food and drink before the MRI examination depend on the type of examination you are referred for, and MRI examinations of the bone and joint system do not require any special attention regarding food and drink intake.<\/p>\n

      Some MR examinations may require intravenous contrast.<\/p>\n

      The radiology staff will inquire about your possible allergy to drugs, food or something else. Contrast agents used for MRI exams contain gadolinium and generally do not cause allergic reactions.<\/p>\n

      Ultrasound diagnostics is a modern diagnostics method that, with the help of ultrasound waves, examines the most common internal organs, superficial structures and blood vessels. The ultrasound examination is completely safe and painless.<\/p>\n

      It usually lasts about 15 to 30 minutes. During the ultrasound examination, the patient lies quietly on the table or is in a sitting position while the doctor applies the gel to the skin, and then moves the ultrasound probe over the gel to obtain the required images.         MULTI-LAYER COMPUTED TOMOGRAPHY (MSCT)<\/h3><\/div>\r\n

        The MSCT device enables obtaining a larger amount of data after the passage of X-rays through the patient’s body, at a higher speed and for a shorter duration of the examination, with a lower dose of radiation and high diagnostic reliability.<\/p>\n

        MSCT takes a series of X-ray images in layers and uses computer processing to create and reconstruct the imaged tissues and organs of your body. Used to visualize all parts of the body and diagnose diseases or injuries, as well as to plan medical or surgical treatment.<\/p>\n

        The examination takes a short time, just a few tens of seconds. Depending on the diagnosis and the part of the body being scanned, the examination can be performed without the use of contrast or with the intravenous use of a contrast medium.<\/p>\n

        Due to the use of intravenous contrast media, the patient should submit blood urea and creatinine values.<\/p>\n
